What time of year is the cheapest to replace a roof?

Timing does not lower the price of the roof itself. Its size, pitch, layers, decking and details set that. What timing changes is how long you wait and how much risk you carry meanwhile.

Around DC, fall is the best time to do the work, because mild, dry weather suits a new roof. Spring is when most people book, so if you already know the roof is on its way out, get it priced over the winter and hold a date before the calendar fills.

The costly timing is waiting until it fails. Then the bill includes the leak repair, the wet insulation and the damaged ceiling on top of the roof.

Financing may be available for qualifying projects, which can let you replace on your schedule rather than the roof’s. Ask when you call.

Planning ahead also gives you time to compare quotes properly, check that each one lists the decking rate, and pick a start date that suits you. None of that is easy with water coming through a ceiling.

Price it now and choose the date. A replacement estimate is free and comes in writing.
